Pastor Holloway
To God be the glory! Great things the Lord has done! Over a span of one hundred and twenty- one years, the Lord has brought us together from varied faith traditions; touched our unique gifts and abilities; and breathed His Spirit on First Church. We are family. We care for one another. We rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. We are family. First Church loves those that God has added to our family but we still desire to seek out others to join our welcoming family.
I am Reverend Edward L. Holloway, Pastor of First Church Concord. I started this journey as an undergrad at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1967. From there I enrolled at Colgate Rochester Divinity School in 1972 and then went on to continue religious studies at Howard University 1981. God continued to lead and guide my life to be his servant. I began my professional ministry at the Community Youth Ministry, Church of the Good Shepherd, Ann Arbor, MI. My first pastorship was in Charlotte, North Carolina at New Emmanuel Congregational United Church of Christ. Ordained in The United Church of Christ in 1983. In 2001, God sent me in another direction to Concord, North Carolina where I began pastoring at First Church Concord now for twenty-two years.
